We took part in the first fiction movie "Il Volo" by Wim Wenders, as director of stereography.

This project represents not only the first Italian stereoscopic cinema production, but probably the first attempt in the world at staging a true story in 3D. It is a simple but classic "tale", however it is a tale that will generate great interest.
How does this tale relate into the realm of 3D which is typically only used in live action movies or cartoons? This is the challenge for this entire production team: to prove that stereoscopic cinema is not only meant for horror movies, cartoons or sci-fi as Hollywood is doing right now.

It was a great honour, working with Wim Wenders and the experience was fantastic. The emotion was getting famous actors "real". All that, without CG animations.

The stereoscopic movie is a technological revolution like the coming of sound and color to movies. We think that this method of film production is suitable for every movie genre. However in the past, sound and color met with resistance.

Now Lilliwood - Xilostudios with its stereographers Giampiero Piazza and Francesca Tornimbeni, are taking on the responsibility, under the guidance of Wim Wenders, of using stereoscopy with a different sensitivity oriented to reality, instead of special effects.
Lilliwood was the unique stereographic company in the set and they carried out the 3D effect in this movie.

"The Director of Stereography "DOS" is a new profession that manages the 3D shootings in a film production. Collaborating with the DIRECTOR and DOP, the role of the stereographer is to obtain the tridimensional or stereoscopic vision created by 2 overlapping movies. A dream that the occidental art always pursues, a new grammar for the cinema."
